living with PIL - how often do you cook?

I went to a dinner a couple of days ago, and there were two girls, both of them recently (about 2-3 months) moved out from their PIL’s house. I asked them about what they do about cooking, since one of them works and the other is in last year or uni.

One of them told me that her mother send over food every other day and the other said they just go over to her husband’s house for dinner.. Nither one of them cooks, and it didn’t seem like a temporary thing, it’s been months since they both moved out!!

I thought this was really weird! I still live with my PIL and I cook 1-2 times a week, and i am responsible for lunch. (I work too, so whatever i’m making for myself and my husband, i make for my FIL and BIL).. I don’t think this is a big deal or so but I have always heard that people that live alone have so much responsibility, with being in charge of cooking and cleaning. These are suppose to be the cons of living alone! But nither of them seemed to do any cooking what so ever!

girls living with PIL and alone - what do you guys do for cooking! how often do you cook? just curious and i want to see if i’m the weird one for thinking that is odd!

Re: living with PIL - how often do you cook?

Re: living with PIL - how often do you cook?

Re: living with PIL - how often do you cook?

Ummmm since it's hubby and I, cook every other day. At the most maybe 3-4 days would pass with me not cooking anything.

Re: living with PIL - how often do you cook?

oh ok do you have any further info on what else goes on in their house pal..

PIL, public image limited. It’s a band fronted by Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols, which he started after Sid Vicious died.

Re: living with PIL - how often do you cook?

I dnt find it odd. It's just every household has different setup, expectations and priorities. Mayb for the couple eating at pil's gives preference to eating together as a family and maybe tats their way of spending time together eveeryday.
For couple at uni mayb she just Doesn't have time to cook.

When I first read the post, my weird mind thought that it was puppy -in-law…:smack:

Not surprising, considering the fact on how some people really feel about their PILs

Re: living with PIL - how often do you cook?

*Its only 2 of us and we both work full time…
I cook around 4 times a week…
Other days, we go around mum’s house or she sends food over
eating out, use left overs etc *
