Exploit working class? LMFAO. Did you know there is a new fatwa in UAE which says that it is okay if the labourers do not keep their fasts because it is damn hot. The working hours of the labourers are reduced in Ramadan. They are told to do night shifts so that they don’t die from a heat stroke or something. Which country in the Middle East does this? The media only writes and projects the bad things about a city. It is not all bad. I am not saying Dubai is some sort of Paradise on Earth but we are much better off than any of the other countries around.

Like I said in my previous post…that’s* my *observations and my opinion of Dubai.

So what if public transport and groceries are cheaper in Dubai compared to the UK? At least we don’t exploit our working class to the extent Dubai does. I’d rather pay slightly more for my apples than have practical slave labour going on under my nose thanks.

I guess the situation in Dubai is similar to situations across the rest of the Middle East…but then why does Dubai claim to be ultra modern? <— That was a rhetorical question.

My point is…Dubai has adopted the worst of western/modern culture yet chosen to ignore the best of it (democracy/equality etc.)

That’s all I’m going to say on this subject. I can see you’re very patriotic about your home which is great but patriotism to the point of being blind can’t be a good thing.

Don’t get me wrong, Dubai isn’t all bad. I’ve been there plenty of times and will continue to do so because I enjoy my time there. Of course it has faults just like every other place in the world but it irritates me when people try to tell me it’s some sort of paradise when it clearly isn’t.
