Re: Living in China..
China has muslim population in every major city, halal restaurants and mosques as well. All restaurants serve Chinese style halal food. When I visit, I ask the chef to prepare according to my taste (spicy), add eggs, potatos, etc. All kinds of markets are there including upscale international ones....
Southern China is much better in terms of people hospitality, working environment and weather. Peoples attitude in North (around Beijing) is kind of rude as it is center of Government (red tape). You won't enjoy living in any Northern city. Winters are harsh as well.
Most Indian/Pakistani restaurants and people you will find is in Guangzhou city.
What do you want to do there? If you have any exact plan, I can guide you better.
