Living expenses in your city

I guess this is kind of a survey…i’m curious to see how ti varies from city or country etc

Defining living expenses… an avg apt in an avg neighborhood, monthly transportation costs, groceries, gas and electric bills, and the cable bill..and then misc, such as cell phone, cable television , eating out etc.

For a single person, how much is the bare minimum they should expect to pay in YOUR city?

Re: Living expenses in your city

in the city where i am in now, b’ham u should have around £200 for a room in a shared house or £660 for a 3 bedroom house somewhere not too far from the city centre…and then transport, for students you pay £112 per term bus fare(tht’s like 3 months or soemthing)…you could get a railcard for £26(or £24:hmmm:)…dont know about food:@:…
for a single person i’d say £500 a month

in the city where i was before, for a good 3 bedroom house, you’ll have to pay $500 a month, in the city centre…but if you chose the new buildings then it’d be $1000…food and stuff=$400, water bills the standard per month is $50, if you have metre then tht’s depend on yr usage…same goes for electricty(maybe $100 for general usage)…
for a single person (say living in a shared flat) would be $400

Well I'm in Montreal, Canada.

For a single person, based on what you asked:
Rent: $500 for a 3 1/2 appartment.
Transportation: $100 if you use public transport
Groceries: $100 if you buy and prepare 3 meals a day.
Heating/Electricity bill:$80
Cable Tv: $50
Phone: $50, assuming you use a cell phone only with a plan having a good amount of minutes.
Eating out: You can get something good for between $10 and 30 per outing.

So if we sum it up, I would say you can get by on $800. But if we're talking about bare minimums, then you can get 3 1/2 for less than $500. I've known people to get them for as little as $200. If you choose to eat more simply, you can reduce your monthly grocery bill to about $70.

So bare minimum could be as little as about $500, if your only concern is survival.

Re: Living expenses in your city

I can live on $300 or £150 pounds a month if i live frugal.

Afterall survival is easy when your alone and have no responsibilities i used to hack it well.

Now with a fammily not even $1000 dollars is enough considering i live out in the country and it's not cheap if your young and have a fammily... to keep happy.

Re: Living expenses in your city

Living expenses are raising in GCC. simply those who are rich, getting more rich and those who are poor they r getting in poverty. The middle class pplz are non-nationals living here.
