^ Why not negotiate a car/driver and housing as part of the compensation? Even if the housing is not in an area of your choosing, you can get a housing allowance to off-set your rental expenses and then move to an area you are comfortable with/prefer.

Sehrysh… most of the opportunities are at public sector institutions and there’s little room for negotiation due to the pre-defined criteria specified by the Govt. - the stipends, incidentals, and various allowances are rolled into one amount… at least that’s what I’ve seen so far. I’m still waiting for responses - will see what they offer.
