Living away from home

It sucks doesn’t it? Living in a city far away from the one you’ve spent all your life in. You never realise how much you’ll miss familiar surroundings until its gone. I’ve been away from my hometown for just over a year. Can’t wait for the day I return.

Anyone else living away from a place they spent most of their life due to work etc?..

Re: Living away from home

And already you are facing problems at work too.

Tell us more of your story. :khumar:

Most here are not in that situation.
Maybe a handful.
It must be tough, I agree.

Re: Living away from home

Me, but now I’m more familiar to Karachi than home town.

Re: Living away from home

How long ago did you leave your poor goaTh, MQ ?

Re: Living away from home

Oh that’s cool. How long you been away from your home town for?

Re: Living away from home

14 years.. but that is not qaid e ba-mushaqqat. In between, I do visit hometown on Eids, etc. It was difficult in earlier years, but when you settle down in your careers, then it doesn’t matter much.

Re: Living away from home

MQ, do you live all alone ?

Re: Living away from home

That’s nice and that’s along time. I can’t see myself being away from London that long. I’d rather quit and go back home although I do visit it a few times a month, it just isn’t the same.

Re: Living away from home

Nah, not right now but my first experience was living on campus. Missed homemade cooking. The sylvan scenery. My mother’s repetitive entries into my room without knocking. The cuddly feeling of my room. And so much more.
It’s tough and definitely takes some getting used to.

Re: Living away from home

First 10 years bachelor life, then with family.

Re: Living away from home

Hah tell me about it…

But you gotta grow up

Re: Living away from home

Where are your home towns and the places you’ve moved to?

Re: Living away from home

We don’t have career opportunities in hometown, so that is not possible.

Re: Living away from home

What’s sylvan scenery ?

Aren’t you getting married this year ?
Let me know when you have found a nice balaa for yourself.

I might need to look for one for some relative in a couple of years.
Will need your help. Just telling you now.

Re: Living away from home

Out of all the things to quote. You amaze me TS. :halo:

Re: Living away from home

Yeah living on campus was awesome but there’s no place like home. You’re right about missing your room. I definently miss mine lol.
