anyone here on gs have firsthand info. to share related to Liver tumor/cancer caused by Hep. C . Or know someone that had it ?

if that patient has Hepatitis C & liver Cirrhosis , age > 50 yrs , than might be having primary HCC ( hepatocellular Carcinoma ) esp if the risk factors r involved , read this link

How was the tumor identified? If the results are just based on Liver Function Tests, one should realize that these tests do get skewed if the patient has recently taken some commonly used medicines.
Most of us don't realize the need to take medicines in their right dosage and at the right time. Over dosage, even of relatively common, medicines can damage liver and later develop in Cirrhosis. Care is utmost important while giving medicines to children.

yes a family friend and my nana died of liver cancer . the friend had hepatitus C. but both were diagonsed at the fourth stage . if your dear one is having cancer at 1st stage or any other than the last stage , he/she will be better inshAllah :)

My mother passed away 12 yrs ago coz of liver cancer...
But as far as I know it has no connection Hep. C. But oh well, I was too young to understand anything about it at that time.. All I knew was her life was taken by liver cancer.

I have freinds who were diagnosed by stage I and stage II Hep C. and they went on medication for 6 months after their liver biopsy and are doing fine now Allhamdullilah.
What stage is ur relative at?

My father-in-law also passed away due to liver cirrhosis. Unfortunately, we found out in the late stages and he had three spots on his liver. We had looking into liver transplant in Singapore, however, the cancer had spread to his lungs. It was not possible to operate then. And he passed away within 4 months of finding out.
Like others are saying, try to find out what stage it is at...if we had found out only a few months earlier, he would still be with us today :(

like everyone said it depends on the stage and the size and no. of tumour spots in the liver and that if the tumour is attatched to ine inferior vena cava or the bile duct or the gall bladder..hepatectomy(removing off the affected part of the liver surgically) with chemo/radiotherapy or liver transplant are the treatment options for resectable tumours.. and for relation of hep.C with hepatoma(liver cancer),yes..HCV+ve patients are more LIKELY to develop hepatoma and early cirrhosis as compared to hep.B +ve patients..but not every HCV+ve patient develops the cancer nor does every liver cancer patient has to have hep.C or B

i just found about it yest. so don’t know all the details yet. But, what i do know is that it was diagnosed through MRI so it’s there 
also there are two small tumors On the liver?? is having tumor ON vs IN different?? and as far as stage goes, i believe it’s I or atleast pray it’s not more than that! They have surgery for it in a few weeks. Please pray all goes well.

a dear friend of mine died in june,2 months and 2 weeks after being diagnosed with liver disease.she got weak very quickly.i was diagnosed with liver disease and hepatitis c a few months ago and as of yet,things are okay.i have good days and bad days.the bad days i just wanna lay around and watch tv.one thing to get id milkthistle,it's herbal.it will make a difference.....

My mother in-law passed away in august cause of this disease, she was young healthy energtic lady, but this disease made her weak day by day and within 3 months we lost her.......i loved her although didnt gt chance to live wid her. still she was adorable as she gve me her Son.

he just started a treatment with laser and medicine,.. Oh God, its very hard time for us in our family right now.

well if it is operable, then it must be a small lesion ( less than 5-7 cm ). Otherwise radiotherapy is another option. There is a relation of Cirrhosis caused by Hep C, but Hep B virus hepatitis has got a more stronger affiliation with hepatomas.
In the end, everything is in God’s hand. Allah unhein shifa-e-kamla de. Amin.
