Marvi Memon visits rain victims in Peshawar, terms PTI ministers 'irresponsible'

Govt will not leave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the hour of need, the PML-N leader said. **

PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – Pakistan Muslims League Nawaz (PML-N) member and MNA Marvi Memon on Saturday visited rain-hit people at Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar, Dunya News reported.
Talking to media, Marvi Memon said that she is visiting the victims on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s directive. Federal government will not leave people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the hour of need.
On behalf of the government, she announced 0.1 million rupees for families of the deceased while Rs 50,000 for the injured.
She said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders do not care about their responsibilities, adding that they have locked their offices to join long march in Islamabad.
Holding sit-in protests has become a habit of the PTI, she said.
On the other hand, the Punjab government has dispatched 12 trucks loaded with relief goods to Peshawar, for the rain-affected people under the directive of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said every possible assistance will be provided to the rain affected people.
It may be mentioned here that sixteen people, including six children, were killed and 50 others sustained injuries in rain-related incident in different areas of Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Heavy rain lashed Peshawar and its suburbs including Rehmanabad, Nothia, Yaqatoot, Sadar, Akhunabad and other areas.
The dead and injured were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital, where the condition of some of the injured are stated to be critical, officials said.
Assistant commissioner Mumataz Ahmed confirmed the number of casualties. The death toll might go up as the rescue workers were still busy in rescue work.
Most of the casualties were caused by collapse of the buildings and walls in Lewane Baba Nothia, Faqirabad, Wazri Bagh, Lahori Gate, Phandu, Barisko, Ladny Sarak, Dir Colony and other areas in the city.
Deputy commissioner Zaheerul Islam s said an emergency was declared in all hospitals to meet any untoward incident due to further rains

This sounds more like a political stunt than actual concern for people. As if, this is the only natural calamity that need attention of fed govt. Not impressed.

True Thatta is very backward but you cannot blame her for that, PPP has control of Sindh, and roads and education are their domain. But she is active in her community, frequently visiting many villages in Thatta and meeting the women there.
