i've never seen you this concerned about threads being derailed anwaar qureishi sahab, perhaps theres less altruistic/GS friendly reasons for wanting us to move on from this topic?
anyway, a closer reading of your sentence makes it hard to believe that 'prayers' meant 'dua' instead of namaz, atleast for me. you use 'dua' for 'dua' and 'pray' for namaz in the same sentence. at any rate, i hope that really was a bit of 'reminding' like you say it was and not using religion for argumentation.
i'll stop picking on you now.

It would be pretty naive to think this event was solely for "justice" "goodwill" blah blah. This was about the entertainers and one big marketing ploy for them to create headlines and sign more contracts and ofcourse sell their old and new records :P
Already I heard in the news that sales of records for artists like The Who, Pink Floyd and Eurythmics (to name a few) have skyrocketd since this event.
If you wanna do something about Africa or somewhere else, do it quietly, no need to make a Hollywood event out of it.

Actually if you read this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/music/4651309.stm it says some bands are giving their profits to charity so it wasn’t just a marketing ploy.
