Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

I always have a USB thumbdrive with me wherever I go and have had a few little utilities which are always there on the drive. I just found a more comprehensive list of little utilities which can really come in handy in situations u can get stuck in. I’d add HiJackThis to the list on the following site:

A few of my favorites are nircmd, TorPark, BabyWeb Server and LockNote. Others are very usefull too.

I think I’d need a bigger thumdrive than my current 1 gb.

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

Xming is there in that list. Pretty nifty set if you swing that way ;)

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

add this to the list, at least it solved one of my problems, which many of the AV and AN Spyware were unable to..

http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/index.html very small and handy (only 1.43 mb)

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

cool :k:

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

I do that too.

My must is vlc player and media classic player with codec
I have this portable 40 gig drive which is the size of a cigarette box only thinner, forget songs and apps, Movies is the way to go.
Never get bored

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

LB, Ur making it difficult to distinguish as to portability as well. Ur drive is almost like the 100 gb drive i carry around in my bagpack with this USB cable which can connect to any drive (USB 2.0 to IDE Cable Version 2 - The Gadgeteer). The 2.5" drive can derive the power via USB.

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

TB, its very portable and doesnt require power. Most portable HDs require power and I hate that bout them.

I was a big fan of usb sticks till i came across this and now i cant seem to remember where my usb sticks are :cb:

Costs around 120 with the case and all. If you go 80gigs then its under 200 bucks.

I’ll post a pic soon.
your link doesnt work.

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

Oops, here’s another link: http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?InvtId=USB2IDE-25-35&cpc=RECOM
And u can use any laptop hard drive u want. Ofcourse, no case for the drive.

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

erm no, this looks complicated.
Mine doesnt require any drivers installed. Just plug and play.
An asian friend of mine got it for me from China. I'll post pics soon

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

This doesn't require drivers. Just plug and play...

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

LB perhaps you are talking about “firelite” 40 gigs drive manufacturer= smartdisk.

I have a 40 gb too and it works as a charm, though I got a good deal(CAD $100) but I wish I’ve got a 80 gb drive. I’d never go with the usb drive coz its more like couple of usb drives.

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

Yep something like that
Different case though.

Does your constantly vibrates when its plugged in??

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

^^ Nope no vibration at all, only the blue light on it reminds me its there, I have ran across my campus many times and so far no problems at all.

Re: Little ThumbDrive apps for the taking

Sorry for the delay, too lazy and cold to do anything these days.

I took these with a mobile and a post it note pad so you can get an idea of how tiny it is.
Not bad for 40 gigs.
It actually cost me $100. The asian friend who got it for me bought some in bulk to ended up paying less.

Usually its around 120.
