Im sure I have asked this before and I think I have even had one before, but never the less, I have forgotton how one goes about getting themselves a little picture next to their name?

I think you are talking about 'Avatar'..right? that little picture is called avatar.
Step 1: Click** user control panel ** which is at the right side on the top.
Step 2: Once you click, you will see a whole bar at the left side, click** "Edit Avatar".
**Step 3: Nowou will see Pre-defined Animated avatars, choose anyone of them (You may select one of the pre-defined images to use as your avatar)
Step 4: then click on **Save Changs
**your avatar (small picter) would be appeared next to your nick.
