Little Mistakes

I do always try to keep my parents happy, they are really important to me, but also because I hate dante! Therefore I always try to make sure that I don’t do anything that could cause them to feel uncomfortable. As silly as it sounds, even something trivial like staying to work late in the library if it’s getting dark, as I know they will worry until I am home, even if I am at home miles away!

But sometimes, I do silly things, or perhaps to put it better overlook things, which turn out do matter to the parents. I know it is only human nature, but what to do about it? :frowning:

I mentioned before that I am away from them at university, and it was a big deal for them for me to go. But even when trying hard to keep them happy, I do silly things. Maybe I am paranoid, but I often get a feeling that they are questioning me about things when really I am trying to be an achi bachi, and wouldn’t intentionally do anything to hurt them. We do get on great, but it’s not a nice feeling when you realise you have done something wrong, even if it is little. And it makes me sad :frowning:

Is this something just to get used to, or will it get better as I get older?

Re: Little Mistakes

Don’t be too sensitive is all I can think of :phati:

Re: Little Mistakes

Remember that you can never be perfect, so don't try to be. Be human. Be good, but only expect from yourself what is humanly possible. A 100% achi bachi is IMPOSSIBLE if you have a backbone.

Re: Little Mistakes

why ur so hard on u? they are ur parents what a little daant would possibly do?

Re: Little Mistakes

Don't go against what your parents told you to do just because people encourage you to do otherwise..as if somehow following what your parents say make you stupid.....given the fact that 'rebellious' behaviour is considered cool.....

Re: Little Mistakes

hi starberry dittioo i feel the same thing . i always try to make my parents happy.. but sometimes i do silly things (NOT INTENTIONALLY) .. I say sorry to ALLAH and i say sorry to my ammi as well.. trust me i feel happy and satisfied
i read 1 word in quran i wanna share it with you (ALLAH dil ko **shifa **dey ga) :)

Re: Little Mistakes

what do people mean by ‘silly things’?? :hmmm:
some people do blunders and call them just little silly mistakes…and some people take tiny things and make a big issue out of it…so whats the ‘silly things’ being talked about.

Re: Little Mistakes

silly things like...for eg
sometimes my ammi thinks that i dont have a time to spend /talk to her, i dont discuss my problems with her (her biggest complain) :(
(yes i dont discuss my problems as i dont wanna trouble her) ..she loves me ALOT she gets upset easily if am in a little tension .. etc etc some small issues

Re: Little Mistakes

I wish everybody has such caring parents as yours. Keep on being achi bachi , make sure you make them proud and do not disappoint them.

Re: Little Mistakes

They are just worried about you.

Re: Little Mistakes

Wait till you are a parent.

My son is 8 and daughter is 5, and I think I am being protective for them in many ways I never thought I'll be but cant help it.

Re: Little Mistakes

Thanks for your replies guys. I think I am just over-senstive. Like farahsha has said it is random things like which I could have been a bit more careful and considerate about and avoided.

I am a bit too laadli, I think that is why I just hate being told off, I would rather slave away or something rather than my parents be dissapointed in me.

I know everything they say is for my own good, but I just want to make them happy always :) They say they are proud, so maybe my brain is just the problem!

My mum already says I am going to be an a control freak parent, lol. Inshallah, I'll try not to.

Re: Little Mistakes

No worries , you did not do anything wrong. . It was strawberry who did something wrong then corrected it when I pointed out. If you are very fluent in Urdu you will not understand.
