What do you guys think? Should we pay attention to the kind of music and videos we let our kids watch or no?

Niksik, so you don't think there are certain things that are OK if an adult does(obviously not in the presence of the kids)and not OK if a child does because a child is still learning religious/cultural values?

Yes there are. I do watch movies that perhaps my children shouldn't see. The thing is that we don't want to make habits of doing too many things we can't justify in front of the kids because they will be confused. Like watching Indian movies for example. There are many homes where zeeTV and such are on all day because the moms want to be entertained not realizing that the kids are exposed to it as well.

^That's how I think.... good points Niksik. I was just wondering how many moms on GS think it's alright to let their kids watch adult material!

Forget sheila ki jawani, I saw a video of a 2 year old girl dancing ot Madonna, complete in the cone bra outfit!!!

I will not let my kids watch everything and anything and yes I will make syre we have parental control on comp, etc.

oh this is not good. parents should be very strict. not everything that comes on tv is ok for a child to watch. i had so many restrictions in my time (and it was good)
ps. seems like the kid has seen sheela ki jawani many times since she is doing the exact steps.

i know what you’re talking about it’s the toddlers and tiara girl right? that was insane, but those kiddie pageants are all kinda like that. (side note i know it’s mean to say this but i didn’t think she should have won there were much prettier kids on there) The Soup is always making fun of them.

she's such a cutie! awww... but yes, i agree, somethings are a bit much. she probably doesn't even know what the lyrics mean!

Yeah it was…thankfully 99% of the comments indicated that people were horrified and disgusted at it…which goes to shwo its not just Muslims who care about hayaa and modesty!

there should definetely be some sort of limit to what a child watches and especially when they are that young

the sheila ki jawani and the madonna video were disgusting.. i m appalled to see there are parents who actually encourage things like these... disturbing. ive shared the 2 vids with my friends on fb so they know abt this as well. thanks for the vids guys
