Listening to your heart..or brain..?

So we all tend to find ourselves in the siuation where our heart is saying one thing and our brain another…sometimes its quite hard for the 2 to agree..what do you guys do in instances like these?

Do you folow your heart and make yourself happy or do you stay smart and listen to the mighty brain???:frowning:

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

Don't listen to any of them :p

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

:p

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

hmm how about listening to kidneys or liver?

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

haan that sounds reasonable to me :p

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

Scientifically your statements and comments are totally wrong.
According to science your heart is just a pump . It is your brain which controls your thought processes . It is your brain which makes all the decisions. So if you end up being happy or stay smart it was due to mighty brain . Heart just supplied enough blood to enable you to make the right or wrong decision.

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

listen to heart and let the brain decide!

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

Omg my mate was jus sayin the same thing to me
he thinks its unfortunate that i use my mind instead of my heart
i mean hey who doesnt wanna listen to their heart but its prolly jus gonna screw you over in the end
yea this is one thing i dont think i'll ever understand

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

instincts are better predictor of human nature. matter of heart and mind, are nothing but matters of being how much reasoning and logic one has either functionally or organically.
some people are strong and mature, tasteful and honest.
others are not.
so, instead of letting them off the hook with this alibi of blaming the heart or blaming the brain, it in fact is the personality, the motives, the sense of entitlement, or deceitful selfishness, which ought to be seen prior to making any decision to be with a person and in for a long bad experience.
it is easier to discern, when you know if your hearts and your minds are ethical.
if they are not and you at least have the decency & common sense of admitting to that, still there is a chance that you will be able to gracefully quit playing the selfish, insensitive smart one. presumably, that is hard for many to do.
& so they consistently live in this dungeon of their insecurities blaming the ehart or the mind of their own as being the confused & of the honest one as being the confusing!
next thing you know, such a thankless, mean creature makes off as a snake who just bit someone, and goes onto the next prey.
be ware. be ware.
this heart and mind dip-**** is their tool to make them lure people and pity them. an advice: don't!

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

Its always better to listen to the mind, but the heart seems to overpower soo many times. The real sakoon you get is from listening to the heart..atleast with me anyway. Even if something is wrong, and my mind knows it but my heart is totally in it, for someone reason that wrong doesnt feel too bad!

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

istaKhara ker lo yaar ... and go for satisfaction than happiness :)

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

^^^Hmm that might not be enough for many. Who wants to be satisfied when you have the potential in life to be happy?

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

I agree about the istakhara

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

Do the istikhara.....it will really guide you and take away all your stress!

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

Cauz satisfaction is long lasting. Btw satisfaction and happiness are not opposite ... so you can get happiness from satisfaction too. But it will help you in deciding. :)

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

its smart to listen to your heart AND brain at the same time. yea it could be confusing and difficult but honestly, you cant always go for what your heart feels without using some common sense or some brain.

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

Listen to neither :snooty:

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

I think you need to listen to both...or to reconcile them with each other.

Re: Listening to your heart..or brain..?

absolutely right, arshad5. makes sense.
thanks,
