My heart aches and cries out but who will listen to me?
Everyone is busy with no time, you see.
My load is heavy but I struggle on.
There is no joy in my heart and my song is gone.
Without loved ones or friends around I feel alone again.
The tears fall and yet cannot erase my pain.
Who will listen to me for I need to talk?
My problems are many and not all my fault.
Will you not come and listen a while
To my pain and hear my heart’s cry?
Put your arms around me and stay close by.
Then, I will know you care and I can smile.
I need someone to come to my rescue.
Someone to listen to my pain and tell me what to do.
You see, by opening your heart and listening to me
You will hear my heart’s cry longing to be heard and set free.
By listening you can show that you care.
My pain will ease just knowing you are there.
Remind me that God loves me when I am troubled and sad.
Remembering His love and care will again make me glad.
My heart’s cry will then turn to a song
For I realize He heard my heart’s cry all along
And was just waiting for me
To ask Him to set me free.
