List your planned purchases!

What are some things you plan on purchasing in the days to come? Mine include:

Once I get these things, I’m going on a no-buy for a few months. :bummer:

Re: List your planned purchases!

I like the lipsticks by Sonia Kashuk.

I'm thinking of buying Mac brushes...not all...maybe two or one that's all-purpose.

Maybe one of the paint pots.

A tinted moisturizer...don't know which one yet.

Re: List your planned purchases!

I wanna buy some lipsticks from a few places, I'm feeling a bit lipstick crazy these past few months and have been buying some random ones. Maybe some Bobbi Brown lippies. OOohhh also, theres a brand called Natio which has some lovely looking lip butters which I wanna try out.

Re: List your planned purchases!

^Some of the best lipsticks are made by Guerlain (the rouge automatique ones), Shiseido, Hourglass, Suqqu and Besame (I am dying to try these!).

Re: List your planned purchases!

Have you tried Bare Minerals' lipsticks? I bought some a couple of months ago and I love them. MAC lipsticks and some others will dry me out...but the BM ones are all natural, so that's a plus for me.

Re: List your planned purchases!

Which MAC brushes in particular? Do you have something in mind? A multipurpose face brush would be #109. It was my first MAC brush and the most used. I use it for liquid foundation, highlighting, bronzer and blush. Even for setting powder. It's the best brush! For eyes, my go-to is 239 for shading and 224 blending.

If I remember correctly, your skin was around NC42. Why not get a base shade for a Paint Pot? I use Painterly over primer for almost every look. I recommend Soft Ochre for you, RV. And Laura Mercier makes an amazing tinted moisturizer but mine is MAC's Face & Body, it's my regular foundation as well. It has buildable coverage and is sheer enough to be doubled as a tinted moisturizer.

Re: List your planned purchases!

M, I have a base shade similar to Painterly....it's the "touch base" in Canvas Light by Clinique. So, I'm thinking of getting a paint pot that can be used as an everyday color ....even by itself (wait, can the paint pots be used alone?) What do you think of Rubanesque. I have "Twisted Bronze" which is a primer and shadow...in a shimmery brown...so I hope Ochre is not the same color.

As for brushes...I do better with smaller sized brushes...they give me better control cuz I can apply all over the lid and they're small enough to move in delicate areas like the crease. Any suggestions?

Re: List your planned purchases!

Oooh MWH I've heard a coupla good reviews about Guerlain, will check em out.

RV I have the same problem with MAC lipsticks, they have gazillions of colours but i find them quite drying, i like lipsticks which feel quite creamy. I've never checked out Bare Minerals lipsticks, only their foundations so will defo have a look at them. I think some of the best lipsticks I've had are my older, random ones, I have a random Elizabeth Arden one from a few years back which is the most loveliest colour ever, really nice. Another one of my favourites is random L'oreal one which has a nude colour that I really like.

Tanks girls :)

Re: List your planned purchases!

@ RV: Rubanesque is AMAZING! I’ve been planning to get that. It looks like NARS’ Orgasm in cream form. It’s GORGEOUS! Def. get that! It would look amazing as an all-over lid color (and yes, they can be used alone!) and you can add mascara or smudge a bit of liner.

As for brushes, the 109 is a very tiny face brush but that is what makes it so versatile. For eyes, I think the #217 will serve your purpose well because it’s quite tapered so it can blend into the crease but if used flat it can be used as a shader brush. It’s made of goat hair so it picks up color really well. Also, I heard the limited-edition brush #226 is soon going to be made permanent. It’s even more tapered than the #217 and it’s AMAZING for the crease. The only downside is I dont know when it’s going to be made permanent so the 217 might be what you’re looking for.

If you dont want a blending brush but just a shader brush to pack on color, the #239 is perfect. Another shader brush which is made to be used with paint pots is the #242. It’s mixed (synthetic and natural) and I find it packs on color even better than the #239 but it’s not possible to blend with it at all since it has no fluff to it. But it’s tapered so it takes color in the crease really well too. It’s a super underrated brush.

@Mad_Hatter : If you like really creamy formulas, then check out the Dior ones. They have a line in their lipsticks which are SUPER-creamy. Also, the Revlon Lip Butters are lipstick-glosses and much cheaper.

Re: List your planned purchases!

I am pretty stocked up on good makeup, the only thing I want is 1 very good lipstick, in an everyday colour from a higher end brand.

Not sure which brand to go for to be honest!

Re: List your planned purchases!

These are all excellent! I love the #33 blush, such a winter-pink. And brushes depend on your budget. If you want something inexpensive then try EcoTools, Real Techniques, Costco, Crown; mid-range-ish include MAC, Sigma and high-end include Hakuhodo, Shu Uemura, Chikuhodo, Suuqu, NARS.

Guerlain, Hourglass, Dior, Chanel, Besame, Shiseido, Suqqu (you’re so lucky you have this available in the UK) or Tom Ford!

Ditto. I finally got the correct color in “Light Peach” and it is PERFECT! I love these correctors and use it alone without a concealer over-top.
