Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, South Dakota, Colorado, Wyoming and California.
If visiting the airport as a pit stop is counted as having been there than you can add a few more to the list like Ohio, Michigan, New Mexico and Arizona. I was very close to crossing the Montana state line but my better half chickened out on me.
We might end up in the (Idaho side of the) Yellow Stone National Park this Christmas break!! Then we have a road trip planned through Utah & Nevada to Los Angeles, probably during Spring break.
From a bird eyes view, every state seems the same, with similar restaurants and similar mix of people, but if you live among them .. there are subtle differences in culture. For example, if you want sweet ice tea, visit the south! Once you hit Virginia, the tea gets bitter, even North Carolina is pushing it.
