22 with at least a night over: CA, WA, OR, IL, KS, TX, AR, TN, OH, IN, VA, NJ, NY, CT, MA, NC, GA, FL, PA, SC, AL, and WI.
I have driven through all the states except Alaska, Dakotas, Wyoming, Vermont, Maine and Idaho.

well actually i could combine dc/va and md all in one. But if u can seperate NJ and NY then why can;t i seperate DC and VA, hain?

Oh i didnt read that part
on that note i havent spend a night in MD either but he was asking states one has been to and I have been to both states several time and spent several days doesnt mean that my visit doesn;t count just cos I didnt spend the night.

Spending a night is very important in getting a feel for that place. A place is not visited until you have used it's bathroom. That's my theory on traveling.

California (Nand lives there so we visit once or twice a year)
North Carolina (parents live there)
Florida (took a 2 week family vacation in 1997)
Virginia (friends live there so visit often and have stayed there for a week straight)

I never count a day trip as a proper visit. If I start counting day trips then I have visited alot more States than I mentioned above.
