It would be alot of help if all you ladies contribute to make a list which a mother will personally need after labor. I am not talking about the baby stuff but things only related to a mom. Let it be panjeeri, multivitamins, maternity pads, some extra outfits, everything, anything just related to delivering moms
One item i really want to mention is Detol bottle
Re: list of things
detol bottle for what?
maternity pads
loose and comfortable clothing
pre natal vitamins
nursing bras
undergarments
a soft/natural body wash especially if you are nursing
I’ll the second the Dettol. I put a drop of it in my peri bottle fron the hospital, with warm water. And whenever i used the bathroom, it helped immensely to keep my stitches clean and just helped me heal up faster, IMO.
As for things a mother needs:
Extra large overnight pads (comfortable, plus u bleed a lot after birth)
Tucks pads (pads soaked in witch hazel, helps with stitches and pain)
Super huge underwear lol
Panjeeri
Chicken soup
Loose and comfy clothes
Thats all i can think of.
Re: list of things
which one pads r gud? i mean always no local one imported i was using. but as many sayng v bleed a lot after birth so which one is best?
Sec underwear that u wr using ealier (before pregnancy) will nt fit? should by a lrge size ?
They fit…but it’s easier and much less painful when u have huge, loose soft underwear lol. Also, if you havr nice undergarments…you don’t want to mess them up.
As for pads…u don’t need to buy imported pads…just make sure they’re large…there’s really no difference in pads from Pakistan and abroad …theyre just pads lol.
Something like maxi night pads or you need to buy those special maternity pads… i hava heard initially nurses give you cotton made pads so is it better to buy a pad pack or make some heavy pads yourself using a cotton roll?? How long approx it takes for heavy bleeding and healing of stitches.. do you have to apply some special creams on stitches also??
Maxi night pads do the job. Nurses at the hospital provide pads and stuff while you are there (i’m in the USA i don’t know anout pther countries). Bleeding is heaviest for the first week…then it slowly tapers off and stops…this can take 4-6 weeks…maybe even more for some women. Stitches generally heal by 6-8 weeks after delivery. Do not apply any special creams!!! Follow your doctors orders - usually all stitches are the dissolving kind…so you just have to be careful and keep the area clea and they heal up without much interference.
