Hey everyone- I’ve been looking for a list of shots I’d like for my photographer to take at the nikkah, mehndi and baraat, but everything I find is for American weddings (like this checklist at Must-Take Wedding Photo Checklist | Real Simple). Does anyone have ideas of important moments/pictures I shouldn’t forget for a desi wedding? Obviously things like entrances, signing of the nikkah papers, decor etc are included, but I’m trying to think of other moments brides may have wished were captured at their wedding but they forgot. I apologize in advance if this has been covered in another thread already!
Re: List of Shots for Photographer?
After searching for so long, I think I found something- here’s the link if anyone else is in the same boat as me and need help with this! Must have wedding photos for your Indian wedding » Shaadi Bazaar
Re: List of Shots for Photographer?
I came across this link in the morning too! Some others that should be taken are the rukhsati, secret glances between the bride and groom, the various rasams that are done during the wedding. I’d also like to see pictures of the little kids as they go along the wedding.
Re: List of Shots for Photographer?
I wouldn't get too hung up on lists. If your photographer is busy taking posed portraits off a list, they'll probably miss the candid moments that really make the wedding album, and capture the moments you want to look back on. Unless of course portraits is all you want.
Re: List of Shots for Photographer?
You're right! I was more concerned that they wouldn't know what to look for since they're not desi, but I had a phone meeting with my photographer today and I was put to ease. There's honestly no need for any lists, they know exactly what they're doing, especially since I want more candid shots too. I hate when things feel artificial/too posed!
