I hate applying and reapplying every hour.
Does anyone have ideas for a lipstick OR stain that does not budge?
Something almost tattooed onto my lips? LOL

check out lipstains from NYX and Sephora ! they're pretty good! i have NYX and it stays on for hours and my friend swears by Sephora's. They feel liquidy when you first apply it but then after a minute they become ok. Do try it on!

I have thin lips and these tricks works for me with any matte or semi matte lipstick : I apply some lipbalm, then I use a lip pencil as a base and I put one coat of lipstick. I blot it with a tissue, and repeat the apply-blot part thrice at least. And the lip color won't fade for at least 6-7 hours.
And yeah, Revlon Colorstay liquid lipsticks are pretty amazing.

Covergirl Outlast but not the lip stain but the lip color one, Revlon Colorstay, and Maybelline Super Stay 24hr lip color. Maybelline Super Stay is what i'm using right now and I actually have to use baby oil to get it off my lips at the end of the day that's how strong its staying power is. I wish it had more choices for colors though but my fav is Timeless Rose. I wish I could test all of them from all three brands on my lips to see which ones work the best. I've tried all three brands and all three have amazing staying power.

Reha: I do pretty much what Sidra wrote & it works great! The only difference is that after the blot/re-apply 3-4x……I usually put a little bit of aquaphor or chapstick as the last step b/c my lips dry out easily. I also have several Revlon Colorstay lipsticks & love the quality of this particular brand of L/S.

If I use liner to fill in my lips before applying lipstick I find it always lasts much longer.. most of the day..

GG - tell me about the stain of the Maybelline Super Stay. What I am looking for is something that will actually stain...leave some color that I refresh with a swipe of Chapstick if need be. I don't always carry my makeup around...I find it cumbersome. I keep chapstick on me all times though so just want to find something that works well with that.

I do the same and the lasting power is great that way. But staying power...the one achieved by a stain...that is what I need I guess. I think the Colorstay Lipsticks are definitely the ones I'll try out next as well as Meybelline's Super Stay.
My issue is: my lips are on the smaller side...hence lipstick dries out and fades soooooo easily.
Chapstick is my best friend and the only thing on the planet that doesn't leave my lips peeling and dry. This stuff is better than $25 competitors I've tried.
I also was hoping to find something that would leave color if that makes any sense?
I think the CS ones might be it though.

ohyeah.. OCC lip tars are great. somewhat like the NYX lip stains i recommended.

This technique always works with me try it out and tell me what you think :)
1) I first apply lip balm/moisturiser to lips the night before
2) Wear liptint (i use the liquid type)
3) Let the lip tint dry
4) Apply lipstick in similar colour
5) Let the lipstick dry ( very imporant don't eat or drink for 1hr for the lipstick to stain the lips)
6) Apply lip balm through out the day especially before eating/drinking as the lipbalm makes a waterproof layer and prevents the lipstick fading.( when i do this i find very little of my lipstick has wiped off after eating compared to when i dont )
Your lip colour will fade but not completely so you will still have some colour on your lips after 8-9hrs.

Covergirl has lip stains too but I did not like their staying power at all. But Cover Girls's Outlast is great. You can try their lighter colors if you want more of a stain look. I haven't tried Maybelline but I didn't like Reclin's Staying Power at all.

MAC and Illamasqua lipsticks are great! they're really matte and that is why once you put them they dont go off and stay on your lips for a really really reallyyy looong time. Alhmadullilah I have fuller lips so I dont really need to use any lipliner ...but those having thin lins can use a lipliner , put on some MAC lipstick ( esp the Retro Matte finish ones) and you're good to go... Im telling you!! you will not need to reapply every hour ladies!

Blotting with tissue and re-applying several times works for me!! (only do it for parties) But I wear nude matte colours mostly anyway so I am not sure how well it would work with a brighter shade?
I have yet to try illamasqua lipsticks, been hearing too many great things

i wore MAC girl about town this weekend....and it stayed put without any liner or primer or anything. i had a REALLY hard time getting it off my lips.

Omg so much just for lipstick??? : O MAC and Illamasqua lipsticks are great! they're really matte and that is why once you put them they dont go off and stay on your lips for a really really reallyyy looong time. Alhmadullilah I have fuller lips so I dont really need to use any lipliner ...but those having thin lins can use a lipliner , put on some MAC lipstick ( esp the Retro Matte finish ones) and you're good to go... Honestly im trying to save money and mac is quite expensive for my budget so i have to do this but if you have any cheaper alternatives i'll be happy to test them :)

Try Nyx Round lipsticks, they're lovely and pigmented..
