Very strange. I've never come across it in uk b4. Tell the aunties they are SOOOOO behind the times, and things have moved on since they were young and fashionable. Perhaps it will shut them up.
janu jia..when ur in the next ‘aunty filled gathering’..when one of em makes another comment like that..just spill soem coke on them ‘by accident’..know wat i mean?..wink wink nudge nudge..
Man after my wedding i dressed up every chance i got, and i mean jewelery makeup and all that stuff when others wud just be dressed in easy/simple clothes. I DO enjoy dressing up and i dont feel comfortable being too “casual” but what i really hated was that sometimes i’d still have to hear it cz one time i didnt happen to have lipstick on and a half nangi aunty with a baby was wearing sparkly clothes was.

It's only the tradition in our society that a newly married woman should not be looking Dull by not wearing make up and by not wearing the dresses with flashy colours. Gold is also shining and it indicates that the bride is happily married. Light colours are not welcomed by the ppl around specially the elders.

We can't help such things which are desolved badly in our society. No matter how much we laugh or talk ppl would not get happy :D
You can never make aunties happy no matter what you do ,they have a problem with everything.
I dont wear gold and what I get to hear is "kunwari ban’nay ka shouq hae "
I specially hate gold bangles but lucikly no one force me to wear them ,the sad thing is when girls are forced to wear gold and red lipsticks just to show off that they are married.I have often heard that you can not wear a sari if you are not married but I see alot of unmarried girls breaking this rule nowadays which is good
oh yeeh i love sari but i was never allowed to wear it until i got married or or peirced nose it was liek a SIN for an unmarried girl to have a pin or ring around her nosei was nevever allowedto do tht either but my younger sis is 18 n she got it pierced when she was 16 lol and me over here got pierced 4 yrs AFTER my shadi lolz.....
tym has changed ppl have changed thoughts and believes are changed to zahir he teens and younge girls r growing up b4 their age.....
