Linksys Router

I am trying to reconfigure my router. I come home and God knows what this family did but it will not connect to the Internet.

Wired connection works.

I reset my router, reentered the configuration information onto the linksys router page.

I see my network in wireless connections. I connect to it. Connection is strong. I cannot access the Internet despite that.

Is it my Internet connection or something else?

Re: Linksys Router

its your internet connection.. If the wireless connection is established!!

Re: Linksys Router

AT&T says they have nothin to do with it and will only walk me through it if I pay 100 dollars.

Re: Linksys Router

how are you accessing internet now?

also I guess it isnt that bad to configure the router..

I am not sure about AT&T but I think everyone has standard way to connect to internet.

you can also try browsing following link:

Re: Linksys Router

I'm connected via a wired connection. Meaning DSL cable going straight into the wall.

Re: Linksys Router

and the other side of cable is in modem or in your PC?

Strange if its direct into your pc and also I dont think so it will or can get connection like that.

though if it the cable is cnnected in between your modem and wall and you are connected to internet with the help of cable in between your modem and pc / laptop then it means there isnt any problem in configuration of modem and now it lies in your wireless connection that you tried to establish.

Re: Linksys Router

No its not internet, its your router as you can do wired connection. Same thing happened to my router. You need to go to router IP address wedsite (could be 192.168.1.1.) through wired connection and reset its configuration.

Re: Linksys Router

^Yes.

Or you can launch the Application that came with your router (which you installed at the time of Router set up), and I think it will allow you to reconfigure some of the settings using its easy to use interface.

Re: Linksys Router

  1. Connect ur laptop directly to your DSL modem . Check if you Internet is work .
  2. If it is working then connect your laptop to your router .
  3. Go to Mac address and Clone mac address .
  4. Now check if Internet is working through router . (with and without cable)

Post back the findings here .

I'll beat AT&T price by $50. Consider it holiday special, 50% off.

well I will do it for 20 USD. I will even not show my "desi" face or will knock at her door. I will just use remote assistance to avoid any desi or Pakistani bashing. :D

deal?

Re: Linksys Router

do you have it plugged in? usually feminists refuse to plug things in...

Re: Linksys Router

Change the Linksys router IP (and the IP's router gives out) to 192.168.5.1 (and 192.168.5.100-150). Its conflicting with the IP address of the ATT modem.
