A-o-A.
The internet is a vast space. It is a universe created by man and contains 95% of knowledge that man has learned. The other five percent has either been hidden or you and I are not privy to it. It is a river of information from which you can often quell your intellectual thirst. It is a shame that how much of this river passes us by and we don’t even realize it.
You can trace your roots back to monkeys, if you believe in Darwin, or be descended from the highest of creations, you can see the development of man on the internet. This invention has brought a mental revolution to the minds of people. There are uncounted number of sites out there and no one knows how many there are. (If someone knows, please let me know). Billions of them. There’s actually a research going on which is trying to store the entire internet. How would we know where to go?
Just imagine yourself as an explorer in a universe. You have no clue where to go, or what better place to go to. In your travails you come across fellow explorers who had explored this space before, and they guide you where best to find resources and information. So too, is this internet universe, and as we ‘internauts’ gather here on GupShup, one of many Desi portals, we should be able to exchange information as to best where to go.
In short, we need a forum. A forum where we can exchange links, sites and just plain cool stuff. There are some very good sites out there, of which many of us are not aware of. Religious sites, news sites, funny sites, personal sites, business sites e.t.c…
I quite fail to understand the ‘no outside link’ policy. Why? If somebody wants to share something which they would like , and it being in the boundaries of decency, I don’t see why someone shouldn’t be able to.
Here’s a capitalist idea to go with this suggestion. Every link that goes out from GS have a tag to it. Like emails. When you click on a link, it lets the linked site owner know that this email originated from Mailcity, Hotmail, Yahoo e.t.c…Free publicity.
Hope you take my consideration seriously.
