I am looking for a laptop that weighs no more than 4 lbs. I am not looking for too much speed and 512 MB ram is enough. Hard drive space doesn’t concern me, not does how many ports it has. All I am looking for is that it should be easy to carry around.
Budget is $1500 but can go higher if it’s worth it.
ahmadjee..u should look for dell m700 laptops..those are light and are pretty loaded...sometimes you can find them for around 900..u have to look for dell coupans online though

The Inspiron 700m is Dell's thinnest and lightest InspironTM notebook, so it is perfect for students and people who travel frequently with their PCs. At 4.1 lbs and 1.5" thick, you can slip this notebook into a briefcase or satchel with your other papers and hardly notice the difference. And you'll be thankful for that when you're running to catch your bus.
dell stink. Get a IBM X41 for best combination of portabilaty and productivity. Something very portable but a little bigger is the excellent T42/43 series of thinkpads.
My brother has an IBM T series, and he got it for just that purpose. Very light and he says it works great. His friends liked it so much they also bought the same model. smile
