LAHORE: The International Chicago Labor Confederation (Pakistan Chapter) has announced International Chicago Labor Lifetime Achievement Award for President Asif Ali Zardari.
Announcement to this effect was made at a special meeting of the central committee of the International Chicago Labor Confederation (Pakistan chapter) presided over by Chairman of the Confederation Dr. Azam Arrain here on Tuesday.
The award has been announced in recognition of his role in Industrial Relations Act, Labor Policy 2010, Re-instatement in service of 14,000 Employees, Regularization of 72,000 Contract and Daily Wages Employees and 100 percent increase in salaries of government servants during the last four years. He should be awarded a PhD, Nisha-e-Pakistan, Nishan-e-Imtiaz and Pride of Performance and then should be addressed as Hazrat Doctor Asif Ali Zardari Rehmatullah Alaih. Infact the picture of Quaid on currency notes should be replaced with Bhuttos and Dr. Asif Ali Zardari

And what about hundreds of thousands that have lost their jobs due to the energy crisis? The salary of government servants has definitely not increased by 100 %, and how much inflation are the people facing?
The salary is increasing in the tune of 15-20 % a year, which was the same in Musharraf’s regime as well although the overall economy was much better.

If some tom, dick, and harry give award to Zardari, their should be no grudge on it. This is something like in past super duper mayor of karachi got award as world class # 2 mayor by some people in texas. Who cares?

Given the level of "SHAOOR" and mindset of average people in Pakistan, he will most probably get re-elected for another term at the least and so will PPP. Get ready to have another Permanent Pervert's Party term.
The only positive side to it that I see is, maybe someday the people (given that the fauj doesn't interfere again, and I personally think, the civilians should be allowed to continue to rule for the next 10 yrs. so they don't get any lame excuses), and then the people will learn eventually to use their vote wisely and know who to vote for rather than voting based on some stupid loyalty.
Maybe someday the continuity of the democratic process will correct itself over the period of time.
