first of all my prayer for those who are going through tough times in this world..
just this morning i was telling myself that i have forgotten the real purpose to life.. praying to Allah regularly and reading Quran .. there is just so much stress these days and not even sure how to handle it…
My dad keeps telling us how he used to do so many things when he was our age and compared to what he tells, i don’t do squat!
for example, going out with friends every day, playing soccer, field hockey, cricket regularly, walking to schools and other stuff, he blames computer for this but what can i do.. this is my job.. i sit infront of computers 9 hours a day and sometimes even more and then when i get home i have some other part time web development projects that i have to finish so the thora bahut time i am at home i spend it on those projects (that is i sit infront of computers again!)
Now i don’t get tired of computers.. better than tv (since nothing good comes on them).. sigh.. i just wanna do something.. that’s whats bothering me.. life has become such a routine for me.. i have been thinking of join gym lately and i am almost 50% done with the process ..
but still.. how can we in this day and age with all the money money money and mortgage, bills, osap loans, and what not, … enjoy life like our parents did? whom to blame? whom to look for?
im in exactly the same position as you. Just started my own business 9 months ago, in IT consultancy. Im hoping it will get better some day, but at the moment it feels almost as if time is stood still and we are jst dealing with the same issues day in day out.
I'll let you know if i come up with a solution :) watch this space
Ansoon, no one is to be blamed but ourselves only. Its us that can only make the most out of our lives only if we make a routine and put everything in place. I would like to share my dad's daily life with you here because to me he's an inspiration. He does the same thing as you do for work and does part-time stuff as well..he does bring home stuff from work to finish off as well. He does have bills and everything like you..and yes, he does have OSAP loan as well to pay off. He wakes up early for fajr..and reads quran while he takes go train to work. He doesn't take a break at work..and goes to masjid instead for zuhr prayers. He prefers to walk to the masjid instead. When he's at home he does pray regularly..teaches my youngest brother urdu and they read quran together. He also helps him with his homework and goes to play raquet ball or tennis with him and now he's also doing an online course. He still manages time to keep up with his hobbies of writing and reading as well. Whenever we have a car at home if my other brother is not working..my dad and youngest brother goes to masjid and spends time there. So, when he can do tons of things in his 50's..can't we.
