I need some advice on someone who knows or has been themselves a victim.
My brother in law in Pakistan yesterday was kidnapped and beaten by 4 men. Thank god they let him go and they threatened to kill him wherever he goes in Pakistan. Basically, to cut a long story short it has been going on for several years these men stole my brother in laws uncles cows in a village and my brother in law father reported them to the police and they got caught and jailed for 5 years now they are out of prison seeking revenge.
My brother in law lives with his parents in Pakistan who have a very nice house and settled there for 40-50 years. All there lives are at risk and they are in a panic.
Thing is they don’t want money or land they want revenge for embarrassing them getting sent to jail for 5 years for stealing cows.
My wife suggested for his own safety he moves abroad and even the whole family as they threatened them too. I am from the UK and my wife is from Pakistan now living in the UK.
There 2 options in my opinion they is no way the police in Pakistan are going to do anything no matter how much money you give them to protect they will walk away with the money and not keep there word.
I need urgent and fast advice on this. I posted on this forum as majority of people on here are from Pakistan and are probably used to cases like these.
Option 1 is to stay and fight them, but may end up hurt
Option 2 is to move to another country for the safety of all

So what does a cow cost in Pakistan?
may be they can reach a compromise.........donate the next calf........to their favorite charity!
How many cows were stolen in the first place? I mean 5 years jail time is a bit too much.
I guess the best option is for your BIL's dad AND Uncle to talk to those guys and negotiate a deal which may of course involve monetary gains for the "thieves".
Unfortunately, your uncle, who's cows they were seems no where to be in this "current" situation.
If those guys are feeling embarrassed and are seeking revenge, then there is not much you can do... unless your BIL moves out.. but then what security do the other family members have?
Another option is to give money to police to create an FIR against those people for storing , selling and smuggling heroin and tell those people anything happens again , they will be arrested and this case will be presented in court. They will lay off.
The can end up in jail for very long time for that kind of case , and it is not something our police cannot do , they do it day and night. Register fake cases for money.
This is not my original idea , I read it somewhere where it was used to make someone stop harassing and that harassment stopped.
As Mirch suggested...something along that line is what I would suggest too.
You have to see how serious they are.These sort of people need to be dealt swiftly and with extra force so that they know they cannot get away with their plans...otherwise if you succumb to their demands etc...it will keep on increasing. Make Army or Police higher ups involved in this.They know wxactly how to deal with such situations.
