Would it be better to do Life Sciences at UofT downtown or at Scaborough campus?
If downtown, then what would be a good college?

Re: Life Sciences at UofT Scarborough or Downtown?
Donwntown - no doubt! if you have a choice.
The choice of a college is purely a personal one... it really has no academic significance - at least this is how it used to be when I was in my undergrad. Really, it doesn't even matter which college you're enrolled with. It's merely for the sake of distributing the workload across the University.
That being said, if you did wanna choose, then here are some pointers...
- University College is the most expensive (its old and part of your fees goes towards renovation).
- Woodsworth College mainly comprises mature students and pre-law majors,
- New College is full of desis and ahem... feminist professors :)
- Innis is well known for its laid back party atmosphere - they air movies every other night...
- Trinity has a good residence... had a lot of shughal with friends... you might still see windows with Pak flags there.
This leaves Victoria College (my home college) and St. Michaels College (had a few friends from there... and love their library and student carrels). One of these last two would be my own choice.
wow... I can't believe I still remember all 7 colleges... but like I said, for me... the only trips I ever made to Victoria college was at the beginning of the year to get my OSAP docs. Yes there were social gatherings and orientations and what not, but when you're at U of T, you seldom get a chance to socialize.
Re: Life Sciences at UofT Scarborough or Downtown?
I'm not in the Life Sci program at UofT-Downtown, but I go here. Honestly, if the future goal is Med School, it's extremely competitive and lots of people are disappointed.
Scarborough's "Easy".... well that pretty much says it.

Interesting, thank you.
Re: Life Sciences at UofT Scarborough or Downtown?
well i was in the life sciences program at U of T (st george campus)..i went to new college (i had no idea it was a desi college until i went to the lounge area....woah)....that was in '99....honestly, i would go to scarborgough, erindale or even york for that matter....downtown is too competetive, too hard, and too much people...i remember my first year bio, we had it in Con Hall, and there were 1800 students!!! it was crazy!!!!! and i swear, there must have been a chinese mafia down there...cuz most of the asian kids didnt speak a word of english, but somehow got amazing exam marks...pissed me off!!
my cousin went to york for his life sciences...he breezed right through, and now is in dentistry at u of t....
that was the biggest mistake of my life goign to st george campus..like shakespeare said.."whats in a name?''...the bottom line are ur marks....
