Life-saving emergency landing

LAHORE: A Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight from Manchester to Islamabad made an emergency landing at Baku in Azerbaijan to provide medical aid to a passenger having a heart attack. PIA’s flight PK718 was bound for Islamabad when the cabin crew told the captain that Shahid Sheikh, a heart patient onboard, had angina and was being attended by three doctors on their way to join earthquake relief operations. Captain Salman sought emergency landing permission from ground controllers at Baku, which was granted. The duty doctor at Baku airport attended the patient, who returned to the Boeing 777 when his condition stabilised. app
