Are you Muslim? Because if so, our religion teaches us that divorcees/widows aren’t subhumans and they’re not “beneath” anyone.
the fact that you consider wanting to marry a divorcee/widow as being a “negative” thing is what’s offensive.
maybe before accusing others of overreacting, some self-reflection on your part would do you wonders.
