I've always thought it was strange that those who follow religions in which supernatural things occur (A man walking on water/ Jinn’s) laugh at those or consider those to be crazy who believe in aliens or even claim to have been abducted by them. I think both groups are actually in the same boat.
unfortunately, those that spend time in religious activities wont be inventing any time machines :(
you have to go to the weirdo scientists that are atheists for that ......
Funny you mention that Sadya, I was thinking the same thing.
However, there was an article in the USA today, that discussed how people who practice religion are the mentally healthier ones. The reason being, praying is a form of meditation and people who meditate and leave thier problems to a higher being are healthier.
I honestly don't think anyone has a problem with a muslim person who practices their religion the way they should - i.e. not shoving it down other people's throats, not being isolationist, not treating anyone who disagrees with them with disrespect, etc.
I can tell you plenty of examples where I've been attacked on these forums alone for questioning things by these so-called "religious" people...now how Islamic is their behavior really?
No, its actually the group of hypocritical muslim "believers" that are looked down upon these days. The ones who are so worried about proving their point that X is haraam, and meanwhile, they are themselves breaking every rule in the book.
