life after worldcup

so football fans, what is life after worldcup going to be like? I mean whether your team won teh cup or lost in the final or lost earlier on. As the final whistle blows..what will be in your minds.

what will you be looking forward to next in the world of football. How can we keep this merry lil band of football fans on GS engaged as we have had during the worldcup so far.

lets hear it..

Re: life after worldcup

Football training camp starts in a bout a month, thereafter we will have a Fantasy Football competition. The rest of the merry squad will prolly go back to the cricket sub-forum.

Re: life after worldcup

the summer transfer period. who is Real Madrid gonna buy?

and then the national leagues will start and also the Champion’s League. Soon followd by the qualification matches for Euro 2008

:k:

Re: life after worldcup

Well life for GoldenBalls is pretty low. According the BBC Breakfast news, he has quit as Captain. Life for Stevie Gerrard or John Terry could get better as they are both in the running to wear the little yellow band for England.

Idealy I would like Rooney to be sacked and banned from playing football ever again. Not that I am bitter about him, I just find his football existance to be usless.

I would also love for Zidane to say that he was just joking about quitting as soon as he lifts the Cup for France on Sunday.

Re: life after worldcup

I agree, i dont like rooney.

after the world cup maybe i'll start studying for the MCAT..... hah or NOT

Re: life after worldcup

Cristano Ronaldo.

Re: life after worldcup

Life after the World Cup is time to follow your favorite club.

Sure the friendlies will occur and then qualification for Euro 2008.

I know I am looking forward to the new Serie A season, and how Juventus and the other clubs may be punished and relgated downwards. But I still hope my AC Milan make a better run for the league and champions trophy. I know it does not look likely with Shevchenko gone and rumours of Kaka leaving as well.

Re: life after worldcup

I will resume supporting my fav clubs in Chelsea, Liverpool, Real, Milan and Valencia to some extent.

Serie A season is going to be really weird without Juve if they get relegated. and if they do, I dont expect anyone else but Milan to win the league.

Re: life after worldcup

Rooney is just misunderstood Missy. :halo:

Life after world cup will be depressing. I will visit Khail Khilari again in 2 years when the Euro Cup begins.

P.S. I’m glad Beckham quit.

Re: life after worldcup

^ He just quit as a captain not as a player :snooty: England doesnt have a passer or crosser of his ability :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: life after worldcup

I know he quit as a captain only. I just think he could have done a better job. :(

Re: life after worldcup

I know what you mean Mehnaz, he didn't once take his shirt off, not even to play swapsies! Fool.

I will still follow the Premiership, but I don't actually support a team, the Magpies are not as good as they used to be and most of the other English clubs aren't really English anymore, I mean how many English players do Chelsea have again?

Re: life after worldcup

Life after the cup will be the same as before. All the teams in Birmingham (Aston villa, Birmingham city and west brom have been relegated). So back to KK1 and cricket.

Mehnaz you should come to KK1 during the Eng v Pak test series.

Re: life after worldcup

^ :hehe: ts tsk brummies

Re: life after worldcup

hahaha Your statement is only true about Arsenal who dont have many core english players.

Chelsea have Lampard, Terry, Joe cole, wright phillips and they form core of chelsea. No other successful english club come close (maybe Liverpool)

Re: life after worldcup

:mad2:

Re: life after worldcup

Back to baseball for me.

Re: life after worldcup

It's already over for me - my poor poor African teams - but we fought hard and we fought well.

Re: life after worldcup

my hard team tried their best.....England but some 1 had to lose///
becham played really well

Re: life after worldcup

Will start following the summer transfer and see what Fergie can do about Man U's midfield. Chances are we will be depending on our youth once again.

Will follow the training camp of Eagles & Lakers

Will wait for Cubs to blow up. If not, I might decide not to watch the Baseball anymore.
