I know everyone has been calling him selfish that he is only playing for his hundreds blah blah blah. I am one of those who doesn’t like players who play for themselves but neverthless, i have immense respect for tendulkar only because of the way he has
conducted himself for so many years.
That aside, what will happen when tendulkar retires? Just think about it.
If I remember last few matches against pakistan, the one person who has scored consistently is Sachin. Whether a slow centuri, with many lives but he has scored. Whether its world cup matches but he has scored.
He may not be playing like the best batsmen in the world but he certainly has helped the cause. If you just remove him, is there anyone who can be as consistent and still score at least 50+
I guess cricket for India would be very different after Tendulkar retires. And would be different for other countries too. The biggest issue tendulkar faces is he is compared against himself…

**Very good thread. For me personally cricket will not be same. I have idolized Sachin and he has given us so many found memories. There are some shots played by Sachin that is engraved in my memory and will go when I die. Pride that he brought to Indian cricket fans is immense. He along with Saurav, Kumble and Dravid made us belief that we are as good as any cricketing nation and if we put our mind and soul into it sky is the limit.
