Given that the Al Queda and Taliban are going to make a serious attempt on Musharraf. what will happen to Pakistan on his untimely death?
Re: Life after Musharraf:
what happened to Pakistan when Quaid-e-Azam M. Ali Jinnah:rehm: died at a time when country needed him the most or when Liaquat Ali Khan:rehm: died or when Bhutto was taken out or when Zia ul Haq died??? He is not bigger than any of them anyway…
This country is there by the will of Allah:swt: and not my mortal humans…
Re: Life after Musharraf:
I hope nothing happens to president Musharaf...he has done the country so much good ...the difference I have seen such a difference.I stayed in Pakistan...Lahore after almost 9 years....I couldnt recognize most of it...and mind u I m a lahori ...but everything
Re: Life after Musharraf:
^^
Just because Hitler built nice structures in certain areas of the country that doesn’t justify his wrong doings. The same applies to Pervez MuSharaf. (PMS)
btw… Karachi is the shiznet…welcome to the eighth largest city of the world ![]()
Re: Life after Musharraf:
Nothing will change. General Ehsan-ul-Haq will take over. May be they will hold elections and restore the civilian government. Pakistan is not dependent on Musharraf and no Maulvis or religious elements are in a position to take over. Pakistan military is a very strong, organized and disciplined institution and they are capable of dealing with any scenario.
Re: Life after Musharraf:
Well said Nstar777! I agree with you! But militancy both religious and ethnic is becoming a threat to this country.
Re: Life after Musharraf:
have you forgotten the economy which is booming, millions of people that have been lifted out of poverty, new schools and universities opening, literacy rates increasing, etc…
Musharraf has his faults like every leader but compared to the ones we have had before, he is probably the best and most civil…
Re: Life after Musharraf:
Yeah you indians would love to see him dead wouldnt you? There have been many assasination attempts on his life since 1999. The day and time of his demise is set and there is nuthing anyone can do about it. As someone already mentioned, the country will move on and hopefully with a leader of similar qualities that always put Pakistan's interests first.
Re: Life after Musharraf:
no prob at all there are ready mad mushaffrat availabe in market
we will go for another 1
Re: Life after Musharraf:
Are you being honest? Lahore, and Punjab was built due to the Sharif brothers. They had their faults, but any objective person can't deny what they did in this area.
The Mush govt is just as corrupt as any predecessor. If it wasn't for 9/11, it would have led Pak to bankruptcy, as it was doing in the 2 yrs before 9/11.
Re: Life after Musharraf:

What are you talking about?! The number living under the poverty line has increased every year Mush has been in power.
9/11 has brought a lot of money in Pakistan, but as a recent Transperancey International report shows, most Pakistani's believe Mush govt to be even more corrupt than BB or NS.
Re: Life after Musharraf:
Indian’s and traitorous army haters have been predicting the demise of Musharraf for the last 7 years, and they have always been disappointed.
Long live Musharraf and the great Pakistan Army. ![]()
Re: Life after Musharraf:
Even without Musharraf, the PML-Q that is driving his vision on Pakistan will more likely than not continue to draw the largest portion of Pakistan's votes, and continue with Musharrafite policies.
What Musharraf has set in motion is a train that can continue to follow this track with or without him. The next head of the armed forces will be a like-minded person, and the next President will be Chaudry Amir Hussain of the PML-QA who will back Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz in continuing with the policies of the current government.
In other words, take away Musharraf, and Pakistan will continue to function and follow the same policies as today - continuing to crack down militants targetting and imperilling Pakistan.
Re: Life after Musharraf:
Incorect..
to paste what I posted in another thread..
read the stats, look at what happened between 99 and 2001. Nothing started pouring in the country like on 9/12, tell you what look at first 3 quarters of 2001, versus 2000, and 99 and see for yourself.
I am smart enough to not only remember that, but smart enough to have read stats and reports.
Here is some data on 98-99 vs 2000-2001.
FY 98-99 vs FY 00-01
Large Scale Manufacturing growth rate (percentage) 3.6 vs 11.0
Inflation rate 5.7 vs 4.4
Exports ($ billion) 7.8 vs 9.2 B
Exports % of GDP 12.8% vs. 15.0%
Liquid foreign exchange reserves
($ million) End-of-the-period 1730 vs. 3212
Budgetary Deficit (as % of GDP) 6.1 vs. 5.3
Current account balance (as % of
GDP) -3.8 vs. 0.6
Debt Servicing paid ($ million) 2657 vs. 8857
PS: these are numbers from before 9/11 from state bank of pakistan
Re: Life after Musharraf:
if you are familiar with transparency international’s report, you must also be familiar wit their clarification about it since anti musharraf ppl started jumping up and down taking the report out of context.
In case you missed it, and to ensure that others get the full story, here is the link.

Re: Life after Musharraf:
Musharraf is nothing but a rag dog like the Saadats and the Sauds, serving his masters in due dilligence. Soon, he'll meet his fate..
Re: Life after Musharraf:
and who is NOT a rag dog? who you would then like to run Pakistan;)
Re: Life after Musharraf:
They may import someone like Moeen Querashi from the USA to run the interim government (senate chairmain will become the President). New elections may be held - likes of Nawaz/Benazir will be back.
More corruption will take place............army general will take power again and we will see the same cycel again.......
Re: Life after Musharraf:
whatever that is bad in Pakistan will get worse..Musharraf is nothing to write home about but he is a far better leader than benazair and sharif and perhaps the best that pakistan has ever seen since Jinnah.
Re: Life after Musharraf:
I agree with you! But everyone has to go! I think he should leave now and should set a good example! Leaving voluntarily!
