It isn't getting tacky, it's loosening up WHICH IT NEEDED TO.

We still have the real discussions, and some are hilarious, unnecessary, TMI, NSFW-ish, and plain stupid but then again that doesn't take away from it, IMO. Also, what the heck does a board being Pakistani have to do with it? I'm Pakistani and frankly, I'm quite besharam.

Agree with OP to some extent. While I enjoy the ‘loosening up a bit of this forum’ but I have noticed, even serious issues posted are now taken lightly and mostly people just bash the OP-make fun of the issue-sarcasm-insults-being judgemental about OP or members’ opinions..instead of giving actual advice..Few days back I even complained to one of the mods that according to the description of life1, I thought this forum was about sharing your problems/frustrations/experiences, giving your opinions and asking for advice but if these insults(regarding serious problems) continue then people would b afraid to share their serious issues-afraid of being judged wrongly..hence life1 would continue to b like cafe with more hypothetical threads than real ones..

I remember reading things on Life 1 and also responding on Life 1 about things which were affecting real people in the real world and getting solid advice from genuine caring people and now it has all goen to pot.

I liked Gupshup as it was a Pakistani, respectable and moderate channel of communication where you respect values and morals and now it is not the case..

An Idol mind is a devils workshop and we have a lot of idol minds on here..there are so many tacky, crude and downright preposterous scenarios on here that I just want to puke and leave the forum. I find that I skim read and check who the OP is before I bother reading it and 9/10 it is all:gadha:

Then it should be clarified that this forum is just for the sake of entertainment and no real life issues should b discussed here unless and until u like being bashed.
Ofcourse no one should b taking advice here as whether they should divorce their spouse or not and many other sensitive issues..but as for day to day issues, sometimes people like second opinions..maybe they r not able to say all that to their friends and family..maybe they dont have friends and family around to help them..maybe they want neutral opinions..maybe they just want to vent..IMO if someone is sharing something or asking for advice, they should not b insulted. There is a thin line between giving a lighthearted opinion and actually insulting someone. No offence to anyone this is just my POV.

Most of the threads about "real life" issues up in here are made up, carefully crafted... more often than not, people are just looking for some fun and not a serious advice. One of those sad realities of the world we live in.

I think our members are intelligent enough to know that you dont come to an online forum for real life solutions. They rather discuss a possible scenario so to judge the potential and intelligence of posters or just to debate for the fun of it.

I have posted some of my issues here not serious ones but day to day problems… and i always got serious replies… i think its upto the OP how he/she handle the situation. I don’t get much of the response like 3 or 4 pages but yes i have got some serious and nice advises which i considered while taking a final decision…

Mods used to use multi when posting a strong opinion because we never wanted to have someone's personal opinon sound like GS's official opinion. That is no longer the case as we now know that members (most of them) are intelligent enough to know that mods are members first and they can speak their mind like everyone else.
