If you haven’t heard already, Toronto’s Mayor, Rob Ford has been quite the news-maker since May of 2013 when a photo of him posing with known drug dealers in front of a crack house, was released to the public. At the same time allegations were made that a video of him smoking crack cocaine was available for purchase.
Ford spent the majority of the summer denying such claims and saying that in his very public position, it is his duty to pose for pictures with anyone that asks. It was not until his “friend” and sometimes driver Lisi was arrested for extortion that the police investigation details were released and we all came to know the extent of Ford’s problem.
I won’t get into every nasty detail of how the Ford family has chosen to conduct themselves over the past weeks and months. You can read as much or as little as you want on that matter. What I want to understand is whether or not you would hold the leaders of your communities to a higher moral standard than the average person?
If your neighbour was caught smoking crack cocaine in “a drunken stupor”, would you forgive him sooner than you would forgive the mayor of your city?
I don’t really care. Is he getting ish done? Then put him on trial and convict him, otherwise mind your own business. Leaders are still only human. If the voters are upset with his behaviour they can vote him out.
Then again, I personally believe that all drug **use **should be legal, and that only distributors should be prosecuted.
sorry buddy…I had to.
I was all out of “stir the pot” ideas…with halloween and turkey day already being addressed I figured I better wait a bit until I bring up the “Merry Christmas” and “Happy New Year” discusssions…
and I KNOWWWWW!!! the fact that he used the “p” word has got to be proof that he’s fried a few too many brain cells on crack.
