I don’t think dead people care about their funerals. Beside, traditions (religious and otherwise) are important for living not dead.

Btw, looking from far it easy to say why he should not have faced mob justice, but I’m willing to bet that you’d have diff opinion if you have lived under his rule or if your loved ones were killed by him.

I think the dead should be treated with respect - it is not for us to decide what the dead care about … but what we know is that when a soul exists the body - then that body which has always been the amana of Allah (SWT) should be treated with respect … that body is the property of Allah (SWT) not the dead person …

And your opinion of me is myopic … I’m a Muslim and I decide inshaAllah things in accordance with what Islam says … not my passions. Besides in the article you posted it was the very rebels who said that they would give him a respectful burial and they for sure lived under his rule … if I’m not mistaken it was you who were questioning the mercy that the rebels are going to give him a proper Islamic burial - for some reason you did not live under his rule and still want his body to be treated with contempt … that for me is very hard to understand …
