Good point, but don’t you think that most people have a bunch of similar views (con, mod or liberal)? I mean, people who usually condemn abortion on religious grounds will often also be against sex before marriage (and dating too in the case of most Muslims). While they may be liberal in some cases, they would be conservative overall. Hence the generalizations are accurate to a large degree
