i used to be able to lie quiet easily to my parents without a tinge of guilt. but as i’m growing older i find it harder and harder to do so. shouldn’t it be the opposite?

No it’s good because you are building a conscience.

if its many different things the kid is lying about, i would get concerned but not just for the food stuff (may be because i did it myslef)

I know it’s not a big deal since she’s so young but lying is a shortcut to getting what she wants. I rather her be up front and say that she is not hungry or doesn’t want to. (even though I won’t let her get away with that as well).
