But why? Was LAK tilting towards USSR? Its not out of the ordinary for amreeka but there must be a reason.

Re: Liaqat Ali Khan was killed by Americans

In short oil wells of Iran. US had asked Liaqat Ali Khan to ask Iran to open up their wells to them, the rest is history.

Re: Liaqat Ali Khan was killed by Americans

Re: Liaqat Ali Khan was killed by Americans

Nothing new in this, US has been playing games for long to secure their national interests. The US was working for regime change in Iran in 1950’s.

Re: Liaqat Ali Khan was killed by Americans

In short Razamara was the Iranian PM who was negotiating an oil agreement with British Petroleum. The Iranian public was against the agreement hence he was assassinated by some militant group in 51. Mossadeq took power after the assassination and he revoked the agreement with Anglo Iranian group and nationalized the oil industry. This was the point when UK asked US to get involved for the regime change in Iran. Mossadeq was finally overthrown in 1953.

Re: Liaqat Ali Khan was murdered by Americans

Another thing is that Americans wanted liaqat to allow an American base in Pakistan which he refused. As far as what happened to the rulers who didn’t toe US line is not rocket science.

Re: Liaqat Ali Khan was murdered by Americans

I read the original story published and see too many flaws in there.
This is what i wrote in the other thread about it:

So in short, I dont buy it. However when Bangladesh can investigate and hang people from 1971 now, Pakistan can do that to. So they better open up a investigation and see what they can do.
