“Since i left for college i’ve not written like i promised to do.I will bring you up to date now,but before you read this,please sit down.”
“I am getting along pretty well now .The skull fracture and concussion I got when I jumped out of the dormitory when it caught fire are pretty well healed.I was in the hospital only two weeks and i can see almost normally again.I only get migrain headaches once a day now.Fortunately,the attendant at the gas station near the dorm saw the fire and called the fire deparment and the ambulance.He also visited me in the hopital and was kind enough to invite me to share his apartment since i had no place to live after the dorm burned down.”
“He is really a fine boy.We hope to get married before my pregnancy begins to show,if the blood test comes out alright.I know you will welcome him into the family with open arms even though he is a different race and religion.I know how much you look forward to being grandparents and will welcome the baby and give it the same love and devotion you gave me as a child.”

"The truth is,there was no fire in the dormitory.I did not have a concusion or a skull fracture.Im not engaged.Im not sharing an apartment with anyone,and im not expecting a baby.
However,I am getting a ‘D’ in History,and and ‘F’ in Science and i wanted you to see that it isnt as bad as you may have thought.
