BISMILLAH HIRRAHMAN NIRRAHIM

IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, THE MOST GRACIOUS, THE MOST MERCIFUL

ASSALAMMOU ALAYKOUM

BROTHERS, SISTERS, AND FRIENDS

All of achievements, praise, and gratefulness for helping muslim orphans in Vietnam is dedicated to Allah (swt), The Most Exalted. May He bestow mercy and peace to Nabi Muhammad and his family, to Nabi’s Sahabah (companions), who sacrified their lives and wealth to conserve and develop Islam following the Guidance of Allah (swt).

Dear brothers and sisters. Understanding the pitiable situation of orphans in remote areas, with the support of Vietnamese friends and sponsorial parents, we established a study encouragement program for orphans in academic year 2003/2004, with aim of creating facilities to help children attending schools so as they can stand on their own feet, make their way in life, and be useful for family and society. In visiting Vietnam in June, 2004, to mark the first academic year, we organized a graduation ceremony for pupils and gave them study encouragement gifts, to erase the inferiority complex with others. Formerly, these children tended cattle, collected wood, lived by compassion of their grandparents and neighbours. But now they have nice clothes, joyfully go to schools with their friends. Here are some impressed stories of joyfulness and tears in the ceremony: an orphan boy was very happy and talked to his friends that his parents from other place came to visit him; a girl was holding a glass of orange juice and couldn’t drink because she had never drank that kind of drink before. Alhamdoulillah. Thanks to Allah (swt), may He guide and enlighten us, by Him, we - who have a more stable life, are honored to help children with spirit and matter, with love and trust. Insh Allah.

When we visited them in August 2004, we learnt that there were still some old, sick and solitary people living in very hard conditions. Upcoming Ramadan month is a pressing reminder to mutual affection and mutual love… We are calling brothers/sisters to open their hearts and give a hand to share love with people in calamity.

May Allah (swt) bestow Peace and Mercy to everyone.

Wassalam.

may allah give those muslims his blessings and make them inheritors of the earth where they live in. and also grant them a high place in the jannah.

i just hate it that islamic relief does not accept volunteers to serve in different countries, some crap about wanting to hire ppl from there. what? christian missionaries employ millions of volunteers from america and send them to other places ,but our muslimc organizations want to be politically correct and give an impression that they are not "missionaries"....our priorities are in the gutter....why not let ppl from different nations work in lands of tribulation and increase muslim brotherhood?

That work by Christian missionary organisations tends to generate much local mistrust of the work of those organisations and Christianity in general, because they very often get accused of exploiting people's misfortune to spread their version of Christianity. The best example of this is in India.

Such policies by Islamic Relief are designed to protect themselves against similar accusations of exploiting misfortune, as they instead just enable local Muslims to help themselves.

but you cant deny that christian missionaries are succesful...and that the locals do appreciate them, its only the ppl who r not in dire need of their help who have the liberty to criticize them. and ok dont send missionaries to exploit non muslim's troubles by converting them to islam, why not allow us to go serve in muslim countries in need of dire support? they dont even allow that. and when young men of the ummah find ways to help their fellow muslims in other ways, ...well you know very well what happens then.
