so what are you thinking?

What have you bought already?

Do you have any budget in mind for nursery or splurge as you please?

Any particular designs you wish you could do?

I always wanted to do a nemo theme but not everyone was excited by the idea and consideirng my baby may not even like nemo, I am going for a neutral theme as in Alphabet wall and lots of bright and fresh colors in his room.

We have bought the crib and chest already.. alphabets have been ordered that my husband and I will paint and decorate the alphabets, do some other small projects for the nursery..

I am excited!!!

im letting my sister decorate my nursery (inshallah).

but i was thinking...that if i ever have a baby girl, i would use colours such as black and white with accents of pink.

for a boy..hmmm...maybe a soft grey, white and a torquoise blue.

i coudl throw in some melon green into the mix for each, for a spalsh of colour.

im not into themes..like certain cartoons, safari animals, etc.

i like more abstract and nature (flower/trees) designs.

I grew up loving the book "The Secret Garden", hence trying to convert that that into a theme for our baby girls nursery. The walls are painted a soft lime green colour. And we have Decals of a tree and butterflies that have been ordered.

like Afshi, i also don't like characters or themes as such for nurseries. my baby's room is really just a series of purchases that somehow ended up working together initially and now that a pattern is sort of emerging (modern, clean lines, colourful), i've started making more conscious decisions for the design.

the walls were the first thing we painted- they're either BM's Palladian Blue or Woodlawn Blue- i can't remember the name now- its a very soft pale teal. i didn't know if baby was a boy or girl so i chose something that i could add to either way to make it more "girl" or "boy". the trim and all the furniture in his room are a very crisp white. the colours come from the bedding and the artwork and the books in his room- there's blues, greens, touches of red, navy is an accent in there too. i'll put up pictures when its all finished!

I just commented on a friend's fb pics of her nursery. She did such an awesome job. Her husband is a pilot so everything she did was aeroplane theme. Its just so nice. I really really want to steal her pics and post them here for you GTG but I think its wrong.. lol

Afshi... ok for some reasons, I cant picture you doing black, greys, and white.. you are way too colorful to me!!but man you are good at finding things ;)

Spiral.. hehehe pm me??? as a child I wanted to be a pilot and had a cabinet full of aeroplanes while growing up in Pakistan.. I woudl have loved that rooooom! PM us?? I swear we will not share just look :$

SGC...I cant wait to see yours.. I wanted a nemo theme but now I am liking the alphabets theme more and more.. it seems like it will last longer than the usual cartoon theme.. nemo would have been sooo very coool though :$

Gtg…it all has to come togetjer eventually…the fact ure doing it already is good…cuz once the final tri rolls by…ure not gonna have the agility to do anything…yesterday i sorted midget’s toys cuz they were all over the place and oh my god… I couldnt shift positions at all!!! For his nursery…we were done in time…sure the closets didnt have doors but that a minor detail…have everything in plave beforw the 8th month… That would be awesome!And i just found the perfect deco for genies wall (yes poor thing has like a quarter wall :crying:Will post soon…the pics.

Khawa.. I have started looking now but I havent bought much stuff yet.. and I only have weekends to work on the nursery!! I just want to get it done because if I kept delaying it I will be over and done with the idea.. Imay not even like it anymore!!

S far i dont think decals is what im lookiøng for… I love this wall idea…in choc brown and candy pink though… I cant have a very babyish room cuz its also gonna be our bedroom… But i like thos idea a lot…if only i could find wallpaper in this idea…painting it will be HARD work man!

No i think now ure gonna go full force with the idea…its gonna overtake ure every waking moment :smiley:

^ thats such a cool wall but i so wouldnt want to paint that! it looks like so much work! i found this on Etsy though and they ship worldwide - maybe you could get a few of these and a do a single horizontal band on the wall, from end to end as a compromise? http://www.etsy.com/listing/57275827/argyle-vinyl-wall-decal

Thank you :) I will once we are done! I love etsy.com. Got the decals from there along with some artwork as well. My husband thinks a pink nursery is too cliche for a girl and wont let me put any pink at all!

Gia - like the last link I sent you, you coudl always use Nemo's colours and work them into your decor..like that specific orange, blue, and the other coluor.i forgot.

I may be a colourful dresser, but for decor I'm more simpler. I think I would rather have a peacefu and serene nursery where the baby and I could just relax in. And i would really want a rocking chair and a small chandelier.

I think with the bright colours and a baby crying their head off in the crib, I would go insane. LOL.

sgc that's really cute but I am trying to keep it simple with lots of bright colors.. it may go overboard.. I can have something like that for our bedroom (above his bassinet ;))

Khawa..woww thats a lot of work to paint but decals would be a good idea, if you can find some1!

I could only copy few pictures. She has a lot more… areoplane stuff toys, height chart that has areoplane etc.

She mentioned somewhere in her fb that she bought most of the theme related stuff from Rosenberry rooms online. I know the furniture came from a local store. She also bought a very nice bassinett. I'll post pic of that later.

Sgc: ure da bomb!!! I even found some border wallpaper with thr perfectmatch in hot pink and choc argyle… I was close to ordering the wall sticky when i realized im gonna need more than just one sheet cuz now i am thinkinh of copyinh it on the other remaining walls… And so will need 3 times the sheet…meaning its gonna cross the limit money wise… Anything above 50 dollars get tax applied to it … Crazy amount of tax… Its not gonna be worth it then :(Gtg:Im sooooo gonna paint it…wait and watch! Its my only option sadly…i cant find it in wallpaper format online…doubt stores here will carry it…will see…otherwise fil and husband are gonna break their backs once again :cb:
