we can not have a proper discussion it unless we have defined what we mean by details, how do we define inconsequential. and more than us, the person quoted what was their definiton of those words.

trained eyes will see that the most critical word in this entire sentence is the word 'quite' which basically is saying, not all details are inconsequential and there are those that may be very consequential in the mind of the speaker.
