Here are names of fruits in Sindhi:

Aam = Anb
Seb = Soof
Kinnu = Narangi
Amrood = Zaitoon
Falsa = Pharwa
Anaar = Dhaarhoo

How do you call different relatives?

In Sindhi:

**Mother: Amma, Jeeja, Jeejal, Amar
Father: Baba
Grandfather : Dhadha (Paternal side); Nanaa (Maternal Side) - Baba wadho is also used for both sides
Grandmother ; Dhadhi (Paternal side); Naani (Maternal Side) - Amma Wadhi is also used for both sides
Bhai : Ada / Bha
Behn : Adi / Bhen
Chacha zad = Sautu (male); Saute (female)
Mamoo zaad = Marootu (Male) ; Maarote (female)
Khala zaad = Maastu (Male); Maaste (female)
Phupi zaad = Puphaatu (Male) ; Puphaate (female)
Khala = Maasi (due to kaam karne wali maasi, now actual maasis in Sindh are in trouble and they request their nieces and nephews to call them khala :hehe: )

Faris Bhai, what are these called in Pashto. Also share with how different relatives (father, mother, brother, etc are addressed). We used to watch Peshawer TV drama 'Bisaat', where there was a koko gul, lalai, bibi gul.. Are these names used while calling relatives?

Zaitoon! I was in living in Jamshoro in 2000 Ramadan and I came to know about this word. I looked all over that shop and then realized that that was that larkano jo mitho jam!

My Baba calls his parents " Amar and Baba Saeein" :slight_smile:

I love ada/ade thing but was never able to say it to my siblngs! :frowning:
my sindhi is quite rough, wish it was as good as my rest of my family.

So Rangoli, what do you call your siblings... My sisters call me Bha.. My parents do use 'Ada /Adi ' for their siblings. My Amma is called Baji in her Maika.. Even my cousins call her Baji :D
