ok lets be honest here. When i post a thread or a reply, I’m serious about it. I mean what I say and it comes from the heart. If someone insults me, I get upset. I know that is not the case with alot of guppies…they are here to rile people up, get reactions etc …ie, just to have fun and "play with people. If they get insulted in the process, they laugh and throw some more bait to the sharks.
…so what kinda guppie are YOU? Are you as “real” online as you are in person? Or is GS your playground?

it is not definitely a playground for me....however i try not to take it too seriously and look for as much positive material as i can get on the whole forum.

I am very much serious too, sometimes I find it difficult to express in words what I am really trying to say and I end up irritating someone, which wasnt really my intention.
A couple of years back I think I could have been pretty argumentative, but I cant be bothered anymore, maybe my kids have calmed me down.

It depends on the thread, if the person is asking a stupid question like what do I do I have zit on my tit obviously my response is not gonna be a sincere one.
Sometimes I am sometimes I am not, I think people can read my post and decide whther I am serious or not.

First of all Hello Mamaof3 nice to talk to you.
I initially started to visit this forum to (especially the lifestyle bit) to get infomation to help me , Im volinteer in a womens hostel/ and help group. We have many women from the asian community so reading posts on this forum helped understand (a little) of their thoughts and lifestyle etc.
I started to post when I got bored or stressed and needed to something else to occupy my mind.
I found that I could either be anybody and say anything I like (which helps when you are reeeeaaallly stressed and all you want to do is shout at real people but you cant) or I could be me.
Ive found that this the kind of of place that individuals have personalities and its seems very rude to be unkind to them.
So occasionally (when i should be working) I'll post a reply and the person will be me, primary because being someone else uses up SO much energy and at my time of life all I want is an easy life.

Sometimes serious, sometimes just up for a good debate, depends on the day, depends on the topic, usually a good debate in religion or world affairs, since nothing is ever cut and dried in those two topics.
I try not to get upset, some issues hit closer to home than others though.
Everything I write about my family and life is real. My husband and I have met a few folks in real life that we have 'met' on-line and have gotten to know over time, it is a good way of expanding horizons. Why present a false front? Too old, comfortable, and happy to try too hard to impress others, what's the point?

Hmm mamaof3 I guess I think like you do.
I say on gs what I would say offline too. I make my points exactly as I would if the other person was sitting next to me over lunch. I do joke around a bit, but I guess so does everyone else. Maybe Im a bit more formal on gs, Im not sure. But Im definately more reserved on gs then I would be on MSN or over the phone. This is because sometimes people on gs really get the wrong idea from my posts-- I dont know how they manage to do that so often !
If Im going to post here, I think its only sensible that I give my words and those of others-- some serious thought.

i dont know what guppies u talking of…everybody here is quite serious, within limits of course, but serious all the same…u read people so badly sometimes i tink u take everyone more seriously than u take yrslef…u r so insecure u think ppl r joking around here, when they clearly aren’t, that u get all confused whether they are being real or not and u want to give them the seriousness u dont give yrslef and in the end u end up thinking they are joking around!.i mean hello, what r u saying here!
dont u see, u dont take yrself seriosuly enuff, thats why u try to come across as too serious and then u blame others for not being serious enuff!

sometimes to piss people off, sometimes serious...most of the time just wanting to take a break from life and have some fun if I'm not able to get out of my hole (aka dorm).

On gupshup, I am as friendly as I am in real life. I joke around a lot. People know that when I use smilies, but when I am serious (depending on how my day went), I don't use smilies etc. and just talk to the point. As far as deceiving people and playing with their emotions is concerned, I respect everyone's emotions and feelings and don't do anything on purpose to tick them off.

If you think that everyone is "quite serious" here then you're more gullible than Elmo. I can usually tell the difference ... the reason for my thread was just an inquiry for fun... nothing more. So cool it "lady". I know you have probs with me, dont know what I did but the burning hatred coming from you is quite intense...didnt realize I had it in me to invoke that kind of thing lol!

...well Verison saab, I personally think that when one wants to "opine", they should be required to apply for a license to do so. Pass intelligence tests etc. Would make for a more efficient planet.
