Intro:
This cool site http://wikimapia. org allwos users to
tag the places on the maps (just like wikipedia). Lets
identify as many places as you can on the map and tag
those.

Come on people! its time to describe our beloved

Directions:
Once you’ve found the area you want to mark, move your
mouse over ‘Wikimapia’ on the top right of your screen
and click on “Add a place”. That will generate a
resizable rectangle on the screen. Move it around till
its excatly over where you want, and click on “Save”
which appears just over the rectangle. That will bring
up a screen allowing you to enter the name and a
description of the place bounded by the rectangle.
Click “Ok” and your place will be saved into the
system.

I hope people would say lets generate the map of Pakistan rather than only karachi...... :)

Its been around for a year now atleast. Their image is taken from Google Earth and is not uptodate.

You can't find Karachi's new road constructions in it, so what is the use of it :p

well there is always a point to begin with. How quickly do we develop major roads in Karachi or for that matter in Pakistan? I bet it takes more than 5-6 years to buld one …1 year old images is almost recent :slight_smile:

dont know about karachi and all, but if some ppl get together we can describe each and every house and turn on this thing for Bahrain....

There was already a thread on this before. They finally updated the maps on Google for my area and finally my house is on there, but its still more than a year old.

Yaar I was saying sarcastically, if we can’t find new constructions=block roads, what is the use of any map.

If u don't see ur landmarks but know approx. where it is then u can mark it, when the maps update the mark stays. i.e. my house :)
