Alright first off, I have been thinking of doing this for a while now just had some stuff to clear off before jumping into this. Secondly, I know that I can’t do this all alone so I want help from fellow guppies.
Another disclaimer: What i am about to say is a very very small step towards my contribution to my country. It is by no means what-so-ever meant to be a political statement.
I have started uniteforpakistan.com - where i would like to start a campaign to involve all Pakistanis who use web in any shape or form – website owners, bloggers, forum members, facebook users, myspace users, MSN/YAHOO/AOL users – everyone and anyone. The idea is to get attention of our youth towards problems in Pakistan. We need to get together to think and involve ourselves to show the government in Pakistan (no matter who is running the show) that Pakistanis at home and abroad have a voice.
I am working on making the site interactive but I would really appreciate your suggestions on what should be added to the site.
So please if you have any ideas feel free to send me a PM or post it here.
Its an open discussion but PLEASE keep your political ties to yourself. This is NOT about politics rather its about critical thinking to help built Pakistan.
I would love for those of you who like to write freelance articles to PM me, I would love to make you part of our blogging team.

I know that websites are not going to solve all our problems but it can provide a platform for Pakistanis who can be influential -- not just politically but on all fronts. Every effort counts, big or small. Even if you have the courage to blog and get the visibility that you need.

Whatever happened to the white vertical band on the left in the flag? I thought that represented our non muslim population. I know star is also said to represent the same thing.
Sorry to break it to you ...but when you say our youth using the internet you are sorely mistaken...most of our "youff's" are sitting in internet cafe's watching juggernauts like anjuman and sana or an indian triple xxx.
But good luck nonetheless. you can bet some nuts that youl need it!

bro for every bad fish there are a thousand good fish in the sea. Just coz you heard/saw some pakistanis do this doesn't mean the whole Pakistan is doing it. I can tell you of so many innovative and creative Pakistanis out there who are really making a big difference. I want them to tell others about their own experiences and encourage the young generation to do something positive.
If we dont' do it no one else will.
PS: just a quick status update. I am almost done with the site itself. Just need to iron out few issues before i can roll it out. I am also contacting different agencies and people. So if you have PR skills and would like to lend a helping hand in writing an attractive and motivating email/letter for this purpose please contact me. Programmers have bad grammar. (you can tell by my posts ;)
Great idea Ansoon, i will be checking that out regularly, i am not sure what you can achieve with all this but intention is the most important thing and you have very good intentions.
Don't worry about the arm chair critics, they spend all day criticising Pakistan here and won't do a thing to make any sort of positive contribution.
