Let your Wallet Speak

I seriously think that all crickets fans in India and Pak should let their wallet speak. There is no point in buring or stoning cricketter’s home. We should simply boycott any game they play and stop buying any product that they endorce. Latter will be difficult in India where they endorse everything from chaddi to Car( Though I seriously think, they shoudl start endoring Viagra).

We should let advertisers and organizers know that we take this game( Our only game :stuck_out_tongue: ) very seriously and these demi good can not keep fcuking us again and again.

Lets decide that for atleast a year, we will not watch any cricket on TV and drop the TRP ratings to zero. Lets promise that we will not buy anything advertized by these idiots.

PS: I am hurt in case you havenot figured it out yet.

Re: Let your Waller Speak

Change title of the threat to WALLET... It is not WALLER.

Re: Let your Waller Speak

As unforgiving as it may sound, it will not matter, in the overall scheme of things, as to whether one has stopped watching cricket altogether or if the buying market has come to a screeching halt. Like-minded fans can come to an agreement but it will neither serve as a slap in the face of advertisers and sponsors nor it will ever stop the growing and in-demand needs of the humongous population on an everyday basis; reason being that an overwhelming majority will keep on buying the newspapers off the stands where anything related to cricket is expected to be put on front pages, regardless of how many innocent bystanders are killed in a bomb blast earlier that morning. They will continue to make-believe in news reports and tickers running across their TV screens showing a poll which will have their country listed at the top to win the World Cup (or anything for that matter). They will keep on emptying their pockets for causes that they see as a worth to, which is all what is needed for these overpaid bullies to climb up to their next ladder of promotion.

The National Post article, for instance, has made a huge blunder in part of their headlines having switched the team names. If the entire country is run by hardcore fanatics who pay sell their body parts to watch their team on the field and do the unthinkable, what difference will it make if a group of people have decided to hang their own boots? The only element that will shape up to cause a negative effect on, is those who have chosen to take such a generous step.

Your frustration is completely understandable. In the long-run, I don’t see any value in putting brakes on spending any money on anything remoted related to cricket will help ‘cricket’. If it has to be done, then start a ground movement at the headquarters of ICC and inform them to give players a break (a decent-sized off time/break) in-between tournaments (any, large or small, home or away). If anyone should be boycotting anybody, all arrows should point straight to ICC, no if’s and but’s about it. Media is going to continue her propoganda and there will always be an attraction for the people to bow down to. Granted the underlying problems are far greater than any of the line items mentioned above, people will not care one bit, not at all. As long as they are fed with what they need to be fed with, I don’t see any valid reason why we should let ourselves starve to death.

Your thread is very valid, however. In the same boat as you.

Re: Let your Wallet Speak

Thats impossible, if people in India and Pakistan stop using things which these cricketers endorse then there wont be anything left to use since these hungry for money cricketers endorse almost everything - biscuits, khameera (you call it dabar chaman prash), milk chocolate etc etc...
and people can't boycott the game since as it is there is not much of an option to entertainment there so there's no way people will do such things - i dont mind them BEATING THE PLAYER UP WITH GUTTER MEIN DIBOYEH HUI CHAPPALS THOUGH :D
